Tensions mount as Labor takes swipe at Greens

Tensions are growing between the Labor Party and the Greens, with a growing number of senior ALP figures criticising them for being a protest party.

Just two years after the Greens signed a partnership deal with Prime Minister Julia Gillard, some Labor heavyweights are taking a swipe at the party they rely on to keep them in government.

Yesterday, Senator Doug Cameron joined in, taking issue with the Greens' approach to key policy areas. And last night, Immigration Minister Chris Bowen called the Greens "naive" in relation to asylum seekers.
