Senator back in court for shoplifting

Liberal Senator Mary Jo Fisher has faced court on a new charge of shoplifting, after being freed without conviction last year.

Senator Fisher, who is due to leave Federal Parliament next week, faced Port Adelaide Magistrates Court accused of stealing groceries from a Coles supermarket at West Lakes in June.

She is alleged to have taken fruit, seafood and laxatives.

Senator Fisher's lawyer told the court he had written to police about several matters and was waiting on a response.
