Teenager killed by truck ploughing into bedroom

A teenage boy has been killed by a B-double truck ploughing into his bedroom while he was sleeping at his home on the New South Wales north coast.

Police say the truck collided with a ute on the Pacific Highway at Urunga, 27 kilometres south of Coffs Harbour, about 5am before slamming into the house.

A man travelling in the ute also died at the scene.

Rescue workers freed a number of people who were trapped in the wreckage of the accident and paramedics took them to Coffs Harbour Hospital.
