The latest New South Wales Business Chamber survey has found business conditions have slumped to levels not seen since the global financial crisis.

The quarterly survey of more than 7,000 businesses across the state shows 49 per cent recorded a decline in profits, while 35 per cent found conditions declined in March.

Business Chamber spokesman Damien Kelly says the high Australia dollar and the incoming carbon tax are contributing to low business confidence.
