By chief political correspondent Emma Griffiths Defence has released a "highly critical" report into the circumstances surrounding the shooting deaths of three Australian soldiers in a so-called green-on-blue attack in Afghanistan last year. Lance Corporal Stjepan Milosevic, 40, Sapper James Martin, 21 and Private Robert Poate, 23, were shot dead by a man wearing an Afghan National Army uniform. The Vice Chief of the Defence Force says the report has made 22 findings, with around half relating to force protection. It found the measures taken were "at the minimum level" to provide security for the soldiers. "They did not adequately address the specific situation at the patrol base, and potentially placed personnel at significant risk to the threat of fire, and other environmental actions, enemy action or insider attack," Air Marshal Mark Binskin said, reading the report's findings.
