Retired judge Len Roberts-Smith, who is heading the Defence Abuse Response Taskforce, says 2,400 complaints were received in its first year. General Roberts-Smith says at least 12 alleged abusers linked to the so-called ADFA 24 attacks on five servicewomen in the 1980s are still serving in the Defence Force. "I've been very surprised quite frankly at the range and the extent and nature of the 2,400 complaints or complainants who've come forward to the taskforce," he told the ABC. "As I've described earlier, it's quite horrific, quite shocking." More » |
