Soldier charged over alleged sex assault

A soldier has been charged with two counts of sexual assault over an alleged incident on the grounds of Canberra's Royal Military College.

Detectives were called to Duntroon early yesterday morning after a 21-year-old woman called police to say a man had broken into her home and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.

The officers, working with Military Police, searched the college grounds and about 5am (AEST) found a 23-year-old man.
