Live coverage: bushfire emergency in Sydney

Emergency warnings have been issued for four bushfires in Sydney's west, as temperatures in the city exceed 30 degrees with strong northerly winds.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) says a grassfire is burning in the area of Richmond Road and Bennett Road at Windsor.

At Castlereagh, near Penrith, an emergency warning was issued around noon for a fire which has destroyed a shed and burned 60 hectares.

Warnings have also been issued for a fire on Hawkesbury Road at Winmalee and another fire burning around Grange Avenue at Marsden Park.

Seven firefighters have been injured, with five suffering smoke inhalation and two sustaining minor burns.
