The week media diversity was mortally wounded

If this isn't the week that media diversity finally died in Australia, it is certainly the time when it was mortally wounded.

On Monday Fairfax pretty well killed off The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, certainly as we've always known them. On Tuesday Gina Rinehart indicated she was serious about taking control of what's left of those papers, as well as the Financial Review. And on Wednesday, News Limited reshaped itself as an outfit that requires fewer journalists and fewer newsrooms.
