Mr Gradgrind from Dickens' Hard Times said, "Now, what I want is, Facts. Teach these boys and girls nothing but Facts. Facts alone are wanted in life".

Living by Mr Gradgrind's proposition of "facts alone" would be a dull, utilitarian life indeed.
