Our colleague Stella Young, who has died at the age of 32, campaigned with tireless determination on behalf of people with disability, including as editor of ABC Ramp-Up and as a frequent contributor to ABC The Drum.

Stella's articles did what only the best commentary can do - they startled you into a new way of looking at your world, and hers. She was strong, direct and insistent, but never lacking in wit, warmth and humanity.
