  • Former prime minister Tony Abbott has confirmed he will recontest his seat. It prompted Senator Eric Abetz to reject comparisons with another former PM who stayed in politics after losing the leadership, Kevin Rudd

  • Travel bans have been lifted in New York as Americans dig out of one of the worst blizzards in recent history. 'Snowzilla' dumped 68 centimetres of snow in Central Park, forced an estimate 85 million people to stay indoors and killed at least 19 people

Rosie Batty's reign as Australian of the Year comes to an end today. She spoke to News Breakfast about why she won't rule out a future in politics
