ABC NewsMail - Morning Edition

Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

It's Work Christmas Party Month. Deirdre Fidge has some advice for making it through the awkwardness. (Remember, don't talk shop, don't drink too much, and don't invade anyone's personal space.)

Here's what's coming up:

  • 12:30pm AEDT: The UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, Mutuma Ruteere, will speak to Australian media

  • 2:15pm AEDT: The Federal Court will hand down its decision on the Palm Island death in custody class action

  • 2:15pm AEDT: A ceremonial sitting of the High Court will be held to farewell departing Chief Justice Robert French

  • 10:00pm AEDT: The UK Supreme Court will hear a case on whether Brexit can be triggered without a vote in Parliament
