Prince Harry has spent the day helping celebrate 100 years since the Royal Australian Navy fleet first entered Sydney Harbour. He and Governor-General Quentin Bryce officially reviewed a fleet of international warships from aboard HMAS Leeuwin on the harbour. They were welcomed by a 100-gun salute as thousands of people looked on from the foreshore. The prince then met members of the public who had gathered at The Rocks, before heading to Kirribilli House where he was greeted by Prime Minister Tony Abbott and members of his family. At a private function, hosted by the PM, Prince Harry is due to to meet a number of young Australians in recognition of their charity work. A huge light and fireworks spectacular will end the day's celebrations Follow our blog for live updates and photos from the event. More » |
