Devastated Perth Hills residents are anxiously waiting to inspect their homes after at least 46 properties were razed by a bushfire that swept through the area. Four people are unaccounted for and with only 70 per cent of the fire zone assessed, authorities say more homes could have been lost. The blaze, which has now been contained, flared at Parkerville yesterday morning and quickly spread to surrounding areas, including Stoneville and Mount Helena. Anxious residents, meanwhile, have been critical about the amount of information flowing down from emergency services. "I don't think people have got the information they're after; we're all on a bit of a wild goose chase and now everyone's just waiting for that phone call," said Stoneville resident Russel Goldsmith.
