ABC NewsMail - Morning Edition

Good morning. In an ABC exclusive, United Petroleum servo franchisees say some staff have been paid as little as $10 an hour - and management knew. The company denies the claim. It's estimated 2000 people are now protesting outside Budapest's international train station as Italy, Germany and France call for an EU-wide asylum overhaul. And one of the men who overpowered an attacker on a French train last month will appear on Dancing With The Stars in the US. He'll be joined by Bindi Irwin.

Coming up today: from 8.00am AEST, Julie Bishop speaks to AM (listen live or later via the ABC radio app for iOS or Android). At 11.30am AEST, the ABS releases retail trade figires for July. Also at 11.30am AEST, Tony Abbott is due to launch an apprenticeships network. At 12.00pm AEST, China begins its Victory Day military parade in the heart of Beijing. At 5.30pm AEST, accused Congolese warlord Bosco Ntaganda is due to address his war crimes trial in The Hague. And at 7.55pm AEST, Defence Force chief Mark Biskin gives a speech on regional security.

Last chance...for now: Let us know what you think about these summaries above the headlines.
