Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • European ministers have voted through a plan to relocate 120,000 asylum seekers across all member states. Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia voted against the plan; Finland abstained. The UNHCR says 120,000 is nowhere near enough.

  • Pope Francis has arrived in the US for an official visit. ABC correspondent Stephanie March says he was given the rare honour of a tarmac welcome from President Obama, Michelle Obama and Vice-President Biden.

  • Volkswagen has lost 30% of its value as its vehicle emissions scandal widened to include 11 million cars worldwide. Its set aside billions of dollars for a recall and faces billions more in fines.

  • Peta Credlin, chief of staff to former PM Tony Abbott, says her gender played a part in criticism she faced in the role. "If I was a guy I wouldn't be bossy, I'd be strong".

  • And a teddy bear has gone on a mini-adventure in Canberra after being left in a hotel room. Teddy's now safely home with his family.
