  • Cardinal George Pell is again giving evidence to the child abuse royal commission from Rome. ABC Europe correspondent Lisa Millar is there and says at least one survivor will meet with the Cardinal and that the group as a whole is still hopeful of a papal audience.   • Malcolm Turnbull and Tony Abbott were seated opposite each other at an event to honour John Howard last night. The encounter comes as tensions in the Government are flaring over the leaking of classified defence documents. Mr Abbott denies he has anything to do with it. The AFP is investigating

  • Been thinking about a trip to Tasmania? You're not alone. The number of international tourists visitng Tasmania has increased more than in any other part of the country. A tourism boss in the state says momentum has been building for years and now "it is just our time"

Australian writer Helen Garner just won a major literary prize in the US. The Windham-Campbell Prize is worth $200,000 and the author told the ABC, when she received an email telling her of the win, she thought it was spam
