Good morning. Here's what's happening now: It's time to pay attention to the tax debate. The Federal Government is considering allowing the states and territories to charge income tax. Why? To cover growing health and education costs and effectively end the stand-off over funding that's been dragging on since Joe Hockey's 2014 budget. It's a big move and if it happens ABC political reporter Louise Yaxley says it will "be a major change to the way the federation works". It will all be discussed at a Council of Australian Governments (COAG) meeting starting tonight Some Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) members are walking off the job today. The industrial action was originally planned for the Easter period but was suspended it in the wake of the Brussels attacks. Today, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville and Darwin airports are likely to be affected. There will be stoppages in Melbourne tomorrow The Victorian Royal Commission into Family Violence will make its recommendations public this morning. The State Government has already pledged to implement the findings.
