ABC NewsMail - Morning Edition

Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • Four Corners has revealed that Federal MP Clive Palmer was the final approver for millions of dollars of spending at the Queensland Nickel refinery. Authorities are investigating whether Mr Palmer acted as a shadow director despite claiming to be retired from the troubled business

  • Doctors without Borders say they have treated 260 people for breathing problems, wounds from plastic bullets and other injuries after police fired tear gas at asylum seekers on the Greek-Macedonian border. A Macedonian police source said three officers were also injured by protesting asylum seekers throwing stones

  • The Fair Work Commission will today hear final submissions in a long-running case brought by employer groups who want to reduce double-time Sunday penalty rates to match time-and-a-half Saturday rates. Unions have threatened to use the decision, which is expected in early June, against the Government in this year's election campaign

Two survivors of the Port Arthur massacre, Peter and Pauline Grenfell, have broken their silence to tell of their horrifying experience ahead of tonight's Australian Story episode. The 20th anniversary of the tragedy is on April 28

Here's what's coming up:

  • 10:00am AEST: Five people charged over the murder of a key witness in a major drug case are set to face trial in the NSW Supreme Court, almost five years after the contract killing of Gemahl Maika. He was due to testify against a cocaine syndicate known as the Golden Gun ring

  • 8:00pm: Australian Story looks back at the legacy of the Port Arthur massacre
