ABC NewsMail - Morning Edition

Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

A British council has demanded the parkrun group, which organises free weekly timed runs across the world, start paying for the upkeep of its park or stay away. The group says they encourage people to exercise and charging people to participate would go against their founding principles

Here's what's coming up:

  • 8:20am AEST: Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will arrive in Shanghai, China, to attend an Australian tourism event

  • 9:00am AEST: Industry, Innovation and Science Minister Christopher Pyne will give the keynote address at the Knowledge Nation Summit in Sydney

  • 9:30am AEST: A Sydney father of three is due to face court after a stolen car he'd been travelling in was found carrying two rifles and a homemade bomb

  • 11:45am AEST: Acting Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce will be in Rockhampton

  • 5:30pm AEST: Mr Turnbull arrives in Beijing and travels to the Great Hall of the People where he will meet with leaders. It will be followed by a state banquet
