Unless you're wealthy, you're not going to like flat taxes

The superannuation tax debate has been used by many conservative commentators to proffer the bizarre suggestion that progressive taxation of superannuation is somehow socialistic class warfare.

The outcry that this approach was hitting the middle class was a nice little overture to what I expect (should the Liberal Party win the election) will be the bigger push for a further flattening of income tax.

But when when that debate does come around, remember what the fight is really about - the wealthiest paying a lot less tax, and a lot fewer services for everyone else.
