Live: Manhunt underway for Boston bombing suspect

A massive manhunt is underway in Boston as police search for a marathon bombing suspect who went on the run after a deadly gun battle which killed his brother.

After a bloody night of shooting and explosions, the entire city is in lockdown and heavily-armed officers are hunting for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19.

He remains at large more than 12 hours after his older brother Tamerlan was killed in a police shoot-out following the fatal shooting of a university officer.

The suspects are from the Russian province of Dagestan, near Chechnya, but reportedly arrived in the US in 2001.

The twin marathon bombs killed three people and wounded about 180 others in a hail of nails and shrapnel.
