Agency failings don't stop starvation and neglect

A report into the starvation and neglect of a group of children in South Australia has found the case would have been exposed earlier if government departments had shared information.

Five adults were jailed over the horrific 2008 case involving several of the 21 children in their care at Elizabeth Grove and Parafield Gardens in Adelaide's north.

An investigation by the Child Death and Serious Injury Review Committee found several agencies had small pieces of information about the main household involved, but it had not been put together.

Feeney confirms bid for Batman preselection

Ged Kearney, the president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, is also expected to announce plans to nominate for preselection in the safe Labor seat.
