McGuire on air again after Goodes King Kong slur

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire took to the airwaves this morning to apologise once again for the racist on-air gaffe which could cost him his job.

McGuire is not ruling out standing down after his comments suggesting that Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes, one of Australia's most decorated Indigenous footballers, could be used in a promotional stunt for the King Kong musical.

Today McGuire was back on Triple M, and described his original comment as "absolutely abhorrent". "I'll take on any sanctions or anything that can make the issue better," he added. "I'm not going to sit here today and cry into my cornflakes."

Collingwood board must act on Eddie McGuire

Eddie McGuire had the opportunity at a news conference to explain away his remarks linking Sydney Swans's Adam Goodes to King Kong. However, his comments fell well short.

Now with McGuire's authority and reputation challenged from within, the Collingwood board should take the initiative. Doing nothing is not an option.
