By correspondents Mary Gearin and Matt Brown, wires The UK has hinted it will take action in response to last week's chemical attack in Damascus, irrespective of the UN Security Council's ultimate decision. However, British MPs will be given a chance to vote on whether military action should be taken before or after UN weapons inspectors report back with any evidence. A parliamentary motion has called for the Security Council to be briefed as soon as the inspections are complete and then "every effort" made to secure a resolution backing military action.
