ABC NewsMail - Afternoon Edition

Good afternoon. Here's what's happening now:

  • In developing news, a pregnant asylum seeker in Australia for medical treatment is being returned to Nauru after declining a termination. Advocates say the woman - who claims to have been raped - "has been to hell and back". She is moving into processing at Villawood Detention Centre ahead of a transfer to Nauru

  • Two men involved in the Parramatta shooting have been refused bail. Both Raban Alou, 18, and Talal Alameddine, 22, are due back in court in December. Alou is headed for Supermax at Goulburn prison

  • There are reports WA police have made a breakthrough in the Claremont serial killer investigation by linking the murder of Ciara Glennon with an unsolved rape. They're not commenting on the link for "operational reasons". Here is what we know.
