Dave Smith quits as rugby league boss after three years in charge
Dave Smith has quit as chief executive of the National Rugby League.

Smith is expected to announce his resignation at a press conference in Sydney this morning and will complete his contract with the NRL on November 30.

Australian Rugby League Commission chairman John Grant will take over Smith's responsibilities in an interim role while a worldwide search is launched for Smith's replacement.
