Asbestos breaches uncovered at NBN sites in Queensland

The National Broadband Network asbestos scare has spread to Queensland, with the State Government saying asbestos handling breaches have been identified at three sites.

Several sites in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia have been shut down after asbestos was disturbed while pits were being prepared by contractors.

Queensland Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie says "extremely disturbing" breaches have been uncovered at Banyo, Carseldine and Mackay.
