Rudd's popularity falls to lowest level in Newspoll

Kevin Rudd vows to fight all the way to the election as a new opinion poll out today shows the Prime Minister's personal popularity is at its lowest level ever.

The Newspoll published in The Australian newspaper shows voter dissatisfaction with Mr Rudd jumping six points to 54 per cent.

Voter satisfaction with the PM dropped four points to 35 per cent, while satisfaction with Opposition Leader Tony Abbott rose three points to 41 per cent.

Mr Rudd says the campaign is "a fight worth having" and he says he has "been written off many, many times before".

Rights group Amnesty International has accused British authorities of "unwarranted revenge tactics" after the partner of a journalist responsible for publishing US surveillance revelations was detained for nine hours.
