Rudd calls on Abbott to reveal any talks with Murdoch over NBN

The Prime Minister has dragged Opposition Leader Tony Abbott into his row with Rupert Murdoch, saying he must come clean over any talks he has had with the media mogul over the future of the NBN.

Kevin Rudd has accused Mr Murdoch of using his newspaper empire to attack Labor because he sees the NBN as a threat to his Foxtel network.

This morning the Daily Telegraph upped the ante again, with a front page splash depicting Mr Rudd and Deputy PM Anthony Albanese as Nazi soldiers from the TV show Hogan's Heroes.

Forrest loses High Court challenge to mining tax

Mr Forrest and his Fortescue Metals Group had argued the tax discriminated between states and interfered with the rights of states to control their own mineral resources.

The court unanimously rejected the challenge, saying the act does not give preference to one state over another, and ordered Mr Forrest to pay costs.

Despite the decision, Mr Forrest says he has no regrets about challenging the law.
