Schapelle Corby granted parole in Bali

Convicted Australian drug trafficker Schapelle Corby has been granted parole more than nine years after she was jailed.

Corby, a former Gold Coast beauty student, will be required to stay in Indonesia and report regularly to authorities once she is released from prison.

She is expected to live with her sister Mercedes, who lives in Kuta in southern Bali.

The governor of Kerobokan prison says Corby could be released as early as Monday afternoon (local time), but he is waiting for official documentation from the justice ministry.

The change in the RBA's expectations come in response to a surprise lift in the official December quarter inflation numbers released a fortnight ago.

The RBA cites the fall in the Australian dollar as one factor driving consumer prices higher at an uncomfortably fast pace.
