| By South-East Asia correspondent Samantha Hawley, wires Authorities remain confounded by the mysterious disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines passenger jet with 239 people on board, as questions mount over possible security lapses. Dozens of ships and aircraft from 10 countries have scoured the seas around Malaysia and Vietnam since flight MH370 vanished on Saturday en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur. The search area has now been expanded to a radius of 100 nautical miles from the point where the plane was last detected. Terrorism has not been ruled out but there is a new line of investigation on the two men who boarded the plane with stolen passports, and are now being linked to a stolen passport syndicate. Investigators have travelled to the beachside town of Pattaya in Thailand to quiz the travel agent who sold the airline tickets to the men. More » |
