Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • US presidential candidate Donald Trump has been widely condemned for calling for a ban on Muslims entering the country. High-profile Republicans have described him as "unhinged" and said the comments were "not what the party stands for" while those outside the party have labelled him "worse than Voldemort"

  • The ABC has been told that an audit found Clive Palmer's Queensland Nickel could trade its way out of trouble. Mr Palmer had reportedly asked for $50 million in government assistance to keep the refinery afloat and save 776 jobs

  • The Eagles of Death Metal have made an emotional return to the Bataclan concert hall in Paris, one month after gunmen stormed their concert, killing 90 people. The band's lead singer Jesse Hughes cried after placing a single flower on the sea of bouquets

Russia has begun a televised reading of Leo Tolstoy's classic War and Peace. The 60-hour event features 1300 readers including cosmonaut Sergei Volkov, who took part from the International Space Station
