  • There are calls for the Federal Government to be "compassionate" in victory after the High Court ruled funding arrangements for offshore immigration detention were constitutionally valid. About 90 children and babies, including a five-year-old boy allegedly raped on Nauru, may now be sent back to the offshore centre

  • A former Australian Defence Force Academy cadet has been jailed for at least 10 months after being convicted of raping a fellow cadet in her room

  • Queensland scientists say a program designed to tackle dengue fever could be modified to help prevent the spread of the Zika virus. Both diseases are carried by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito
