ABC NewsMail - Morning Edition

Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • The untidy spat between the Coalition's current and former leader over the Adler shotgun import ban isn't over yet. A senior Government source has told the ABC the idea that Tony Abbott was not aware of a deal with a senator to let the ban lapse is "rubbish"

  • Donald Trump has told a rally he'll "totally" accept the result of the US election... if he wins. During yesterday's debate the Republican nominee refused to say whether he would accept the outcome, saying "I'll keep you in suspense"

  • Research has found a slowdown in the housing industry and a glut in high rise apartments could drive unemployment up to 6.5 per cent. That equates to 200,000 jobs being at risk

Gable Tostee was yesterday acquitted of murder and manslaughter. Read about how his Tinder date with Warriena Wright went so horribly wrong.

Here's what's coming up:

  • 10:00am AEDT: NSW dance teacher Grant Davies is scheduled to be sentenced for dozens of child sex offences

  • 10:20am AEDT: The Western Sydney Wanderers will announce their new club captain

  • 11:15am AEDT: State & territory police ministers will meet to discuss the Adler Gun reclassification

  • 5:30pm AEDT: A protest against police violence will be held outside SA Parliament
