  • President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to pull the US out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal on his first day in office. Labor's trade spokesman Jason Clare and Senator Nick Xenophon welcomed the news, while Malcolm Turnbull has previously declared the deal "manifestly in our interest"

  • Mothers of children with Down syndrome have said they felt repeated pressure to terminate their pregnancy and given only worst case scenarios about their child's chance of survival

  • A 19-year-old man has been charged over a series of hoax calls to pilots and air traffic control staff at Melbourne airports. In one of the incidents a passenger flight had to abort its landing as it approached Melbourne Airport
