Abbott reaffirms support for US actions on Iraq

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has reaffirmed Australia will work closely with the United States before deciding what to do about the deteriorating security situation in Iraq.

Mr Abbott's comments come as the insurgent offensive in Iraq seemed to slow, with government forces regaining some territory in counter-attacks overnight.

Coal will fuel progress for decades, Abbott says

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has told business leaders in Texas coal will fuel human progress for many decades to come, adding that it had contributed to the Government's decision to scrap the carbon tax.
