Good afternoon. Here's what's happening now:

Freezing, salty water mixed with mud. That's what's coming out of an ice volcano on the dwarf planet Ceres, which sits in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. The mini planet is made of salts, muddy rocks and water ice, which are exotic and unexpected ingredients for volcanism according to scientists.

Here's what's coming up:

  • 6:00pm AEST: The Red CentreNATS, a festival of all things automotive in Alice Springs, will kick off with a street parade

  • 7:30pm AEST: The Canterbury Bulldogs will take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Sydney
