  • The Syrian ceasefire which had been negotiated by the US and Russia is on the brink of collapsing, after a US-led air strike involving Australian jets killed dozens of regime soldiers who were apparently mistaken for Islamic State fighters

  • The governor of New York says a bombing that injured 29 people was an "act of terrorism", but the motive remains unknown. Police and soldiers have been deployed throughout the city as world leaders including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull arrive for the UN General Assembly

  • WA minister Peter Collier says he's convinced Premier Colin Barnett has the overwhelming support of Liberal MPs. Former transport minister Dean Nalder has said he will nominate for the leadership should a spill motion pass on Tuesday
