  • The United Nations has urged Syria's Government to "immediately" allow humanitarian aid into the country, as 40 trucks carrying food supplies are forced to wait at the Turkish border. The fragile ceasefire has been extended for 48 hours

  • Hillary Clinton has returned to the US presidential campaign trail after a bout of pneumonia. In the tightening race, Donald Trump released new details on his health and a statement saying he had the stamina to endure the campaign "uninterrupted"

An international team of astronomers has cracked the case of a mysterious galaxy that suddenly dimmed after shining brightly for 30 years. They say a starving black hole is responsible for flicking the light switch on and off

  • 7:00pm AEST: The Swedish Court of Appeal is expected to decide whether to uphold Julian Assange's arrest warrant
