  • There is tension in the Liberal Party after it emerged Julie Bishop's chief of staff was at the meeting that plotted Tony Abbott's downfall. Ms Bishop maintains that she spoke to Mr Abbott as soon as she learned of the party's dissatisfaction but some of her colleagues aren't happy

  • A Melbourne teen accused of being involved in the Anzac Day terror plot has walked away from court with a good behaviour bond. Harun Causevic, 18, spent five months in jail before terror-related charges against him were dropped. He pleaded guilty to possessing two knives and a set of knuckle dusters

  • Employment data out today shows an extra 58,600 jobs were created in October, significantly higher than the 15,000 analysts were expecting

A 12.03 carat diamond dubbed Blue Moon has sold in Geneva for $67.8 million, making it the most expensive jewel ever sold at auction

And Washington's National Zoo has captured the moment young panda cub Bei Bei took his first steps. Spoiler alert: it's adorable
