  • Vladimir Putin has accused Turkey of a "stab in the back" after one of its warplanes was shot down near the Syria-Turkey border. ABC correspondent Ben Knight has said this is a "major crisis".

  • Federal MP Sarah Henderson has made an emotional speech to Parliament in memory of a friend killed by her ex-partner in the US. "Monique had decided to leave the relationship ... but she never made it home," she said. Today is White Ribbon Day.

  • A bomb on a bus in Tunisia's capital has killed 12 members of the country's presidential guard. Tunisia's president has declared a state of emergency.
