  • US authorities are investigating reports that Pulse nightclub gunman Omar Mateen may have been gay himself. Multiple men have told media outlets they saw Mateen at the nightclub and on gay messaging apps

  • A former Perth student charged with murder over the axe killings of his parents and older brother has been released on an $8,800 bail. Henri van Breda, 21, originally told South African police his mother, father and brother were killed by an intruder at their home near Cape Town, but this week he handed himself in over the killings

  • Indonesia's Justice Minister Yasonna Laoly said Indonesia will honour a guarantee that Australian resident Jessica Wongso will not be executed if she is convicted of murder. She's accused of poisoning her friend with cyanide but Mr Laoly has revealed she may never have gone to trial without Australian Federal Police assistance
