ABC NewsMail - Morning Edition

Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • Cyber criminals are stealing Australians' identities by accessing confidential financial information held by the nation's biggest credit reporting agency, Veda Advantage. Criminals are exploiting a gap in the system that lets anyone access credit reports using false identification

  • Pop icon Prince died of an accidental painkiller overdose, according to a medical examiner. In a statement the examiner's office in Minnesota said the pop star's death was an "accident" caused by administering himself fentanyl, a powerful opioid used to treat pain

  • Torrential rain has forced thousands of people from their homes just south of Paris and claimed two lives. The flooding forced the famed Louvre museum to close and evacuate artworks

The universe is expanding five to nine per cent faster than expected. Scientists speculate the finding may be explained by a mysterious force called dark radiation. The measurements are the most accurate so far of the universe's rate of expansion following the Big Bang.

Here's what's coming up:

  • 7:45am AEST: Dairy industry leaders will discuss the The Dairy Situation and Outlook June 2016 report amid the milk price crisis

  • 9:15am AEST: Melbourne Zoo will show its Red Panda twins for the first time. The cubs were born at the zoo in December

  • 6:00pm AEST Former prime minister Paul Keating will open a private museum in Adelaide
