Good morning. Here's what's happening now:

  • New South Wales and Victoria are bracing for flooding and storms from an east coast low that drenched Queensland last night. There were six successful flood rescues overnight in New South Wales, while in Queensland emergency services received about 300 calls for help

  • Donald Trump says the US should consider more racial profiling in law enforcement following last week's mass shooting in Orlando. The presumptive Republican nominee for president said that racial profiling is "common sense" and pointed to France as an example of a country that is scrutinising mosques

  • Investigators have begun examining the two severely damaged black boxes from EygptAir flight MS804 to find out why the plane crashed into the sea, killing all 66 people on board. It's not yet clear if the black boxes can be fixed in Egypt, or will be need to sent overseas to extract the crucial data

ICYMI, Australia could be home to the world's fastest lunging predator, the Karapos spider. A US researcher has collected more than 100 specimens of the small, flat spiders that are only found in Australia which will be sent to the United States to be filmed lunging at prey.
