  • Lebanese officials say they have detained a dual Australian-Syrian national on suspicion of terrorism. Unconfirmed local media reports say officials tracked Mark Eddie Maximus' car and arrested him after an exchange of gunfire

  • Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has declared "substantial" changes to the tax system would be included in tomorrow night's budget. He also emphasised "this is not Tony Abbott's plan", saying it would set a new agenda for the Government

  • More than one million Australians at high risk of a heart attack are not being prescribed lifesaving medications. A new study found tens of thousands of lives could be saved if people aged over 45 were assessed and those at high risk given a mixture of blood pressure and cholesterol-lowering medications
