  • Sun McKay, the former soldier detained after a fatal shooting at the Australian embassy in Baghdad, was investigated six years ago for allegedly making threats to "shoot people who upset him". Mr McKay was also part of the PM's security detail during a visit to Iraq in January

  • A 72-year-old man who survived a crocodile attack in the NT said one of the animals deliberately capsized his boat. The man fought off an increasing number of crocs by throwing spanners and spark plugs as he clung to the vessel. His friend drowned after he became trapped under the boat

  • Australian researchers have warned moviegoers not to take the "wrong message" home when the sequel to Finding Nemo comes out in cinemas. Studies conducted since the film's 2003 release suggest clownfish populations have declined on coral reefs, with more people wanting the take the fish home as a pet

Polls show three quarters of Republican women in the US do not like Donald Trump, but that hasn't stopped him from gaining some young, female supporters. The Students for Trump movement is using social media to mobilise young voters to make the businessman president
