NewsMail Morning Edition Wed 02 Apr, 2014 Top Stories More Top Stories » Hunt for killer who left French student's body in Brisbane park Police say they are continuing to scour security footage in an attempt to find the killer of a French student who was murdered in South Brisbane last week. The naked body of Sophie Collombet was found by a passer-by in a rotunda at Kurilpa Park near the William Jolly Bridge last Friday morning. The 21-year-old was formally identified yesterday, and police say she had suffered extensive head injuries in what they have described as a "brutal" attack. Detective Inspector Rod Kemp says it follows the death of other foreign students in Brisbane in recent months. "We are a safe society, I believe. But now this is the [fourth] international student [to be killed], and of course it's a concern to us," he said. "We're working around the clock to hopefully bring the person to justice." No economists were left red-faced following the bank's April board meeting, with all 33 economists surveyed by Bloomberg correctly forecasting the result. However, there is considerable disagreement emerging about the medium-term outlook for rates, with some analysts forecasting rate rises later this year, some expecting the first increase sometime next year, and a shrinking handful still predicting one more rate cut.
