Video shows moment of Spain's deadly train crash

Video has emerged of the horrific moment a train derailed in Spain's north-western Galicia region, killing at least 80 people and injuring more than 90 others.

The footage shows the eight-carriage train, operated by state rail company Renfe, entering a sharp bend at high speed near the city of Santiago de Compostela then careering off the tracks.

Police took the train driver into custody in hospital on Thursday with an official source saying the crash was caused by excessive speed.

Prime minister Mariano Rajoy visited the local hospital, where most victims were taken, and declared three days of official mourning.
